Dr. Shivam Mittal has authored over 40 peer-reviewed articles in leading international and American medical journals, along with more than 30 abstract publications and over 20 presentations at major global neurology and movement disorder conferences. He has contributed to multiple book chapters and is the Editor of the upcoming Oxford University Press publication, the Handbook of Movement Disorders. He has written extensively on botulinum toxin therapy, Parkinson’s disease, tremor, and dystonia, with two chapters featured in the latest Manual of Botulinum Toxin Therapy (Cambridge University Press, 2024).

His research contributions have been widely recognized. He received the Best Neurologist in Training Award from the Association of Indian Neurologists in America (AINA) in 2016 (Vancouver), the Mount Sinai Garsen Award for excellence in neurology research at Case Western Reserve University in 2016, the Junior Investigator Award from the Parkinson Study Group (USA) in 2018, and the MDS-PAS Fellowship Scholarship in 2017. In 2024, he was conferred the Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) by Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, India.

He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (FAAN) and an active member of numerous professional societies, including the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), American Neurological Association (ANA), Association of Indian Neurologists in America (AINA), International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society (MDS), Indian Academy of Neurology (IAN), Movement Disorder Society of India (MDSI), and the International Headache Society (IHS). He holds several leadership positions within MDS, including Executive Committee Member, Co-Chair of the Middle East Working Group, and Scientific Committee Member for multiple international congresses.
